Creative Endeavors Update

Creative Endeavors meets every Thursday morning from 10:00 - 12:00 AM at the Club House.

It's a great opportunity to work with others on a creative craft or art projects. You can become inspired and motivated by others and learn by sharing ideas. On June 9th we will be making paper flowers again. This time we will create peonies, anemones and poinsettias. Just bring your hot glue gun.

Time is running out for you to reserve your spot at the CE Grillin' and Chillin' barbecue event Thursday June 9th from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Club House. Bring your favorite grilling or smoking recipe and cut it into bite size servings to share.

We are hoping you will submit your recipe for our first Fair Way Villa's barbecue cookbook by sending them to jedaclose@yahoo.com. Include a picture of your entree or the grill master preparing it. This a mix and mingle event open to all residents. The price of admission is a plate of appetizers, not necessarily barbecue, enough to serve 24 people. BYOB, taste great barbecue and listen to fun music provided by Bill Lyons all while getting sauced (BBQ sauced, that is). Be sure to RSVP early!

In July, Creative Endeavors will be using Mother Nature's bounty to make willow wreathes and garden orbs, weavings, bug hotels, stick vases, frames and candle holders. We will learn the techniques of painting rocks and offer ideas for their decorations for giving to friends, grandchildren or donating to a local children's hospital. All materials will be freshly harvested locally so there will be no charge for supplies. It's going to a great time!

Saturday, Aug 27th we have scheduled a craft and art show for our residents. It is an opportunity for residents to share their creative endeavors whether it be quilt making, wood working, photography or jewelry making. Be inspired, visit with others who may share similar interest and learn what your neighbors are doing with their hands. There is no admission, no entry fee and nothing is for sale. However, there will be a free give away of some participating artist creations. Look for upcoming details in the newsletter.

You are welcome to join our group and plan events for the community. We would entertain your suggestions for class activities in the future. Look forward to a crocheting class this fall.
